About the Shed

It all started in Australia more than 12 years ago where men found that coming together in a shared workshop was enjoyable and rewarding. New friendships were formed, skills shared, crafts learnt, community projects built. Now there are over 70 sheds in Scotland, plus many more in the rest of the UK and Ireland.

Our Fochabers Men’s Shed  came into being back in 2012 and over the years we have developed a thriving collection of skills and people from all walks of life who continue to help each other and the local community at large.

We presently have three areas where we can carry out various projects

Area One - Is upstairs in the Fochabers Public Institute where we have a workshop area, computer suite and social area

Area Two - Is outside of the Fochabers Public Institute where we have a small indoor workshop

Area Three - Inside the “Cold Store” where we have a dedicated area with room to socially distance and carry out our larger projects.

At our Fochabers shed we currently have members involved in Woodwork, Woodturning, Toy and Model making,  French Polishing, Computer use, Leatherwork, Photography and of course sitting around and blethering over coffee and Wagon Wheels.
